The Flipside To Investing

Contrary to what many money management gurus will tell you. Momentum can be just as important when it comes to successful investing as the way you save. For instance, life happens... do you borrow money to handle the issue incurring fees and interest or do you deplete your savings? I heard on the radio that economists studying the behavior of credit card fees had discovered a market force that they hadn't considered before. The belief of access to money. The gist of it is that you believe that your savings will be more available if you desperately need money than will your lines of credit so you deplete your credit cards first even though you know that you will have to pay interest. Your true intention is to keep your money available should you need it. I think that this is relevant to Investing. Yes, you may have life happen however should you need money and quickly the first place to look would be a low-interest source like a loan from a friend at a low rate. The second place to ...

Moving complexity to the cloud.

Salesforce.com used to be the hottest thing in cloud IT Tech. I think when you take a really good look at what Microsoft is doing in these areas its really amazing. i just noticed the cool new way that they were taking the feel of the azure admin center and integrating it into Office365. This is a really neat feature. Microsoft made this cute graphic and I think it really shows that the suits are letting the kids run the place for the better. Now if we can just get JavaScript and node.js to die a swift painless death the better we will all be. I will update this article soon.

Flow States and Ugly Art

Image
An example of "Ugly Art." I have been recently posed the question "Why do you disparage art that you don't like? Is it lack of creative expression that you don't validate?" I think the main thrust of what they were trying to say was isn't any creative effort worthwhile? Why are you being so critical of something that you don't like? I think that I discovered the answer today while reading a book called the organized mind. It proposed that in order to be most likely to enter into a flow state one must have a sufficiently difficult challenge for one's skill level and one that is also not too easy. This flow state is most often arrived at by those who are domain experts. A domain expert is someone who has a lot of training and practice at the particular skill that they are going into the flow state over. This was the crux of my argument regarding ugly art. A true work of art requires being in a flow state doing peak work with one's self maxi...

Costco Savings without the Membership Fee?

Boxed.com is bulk wholesale purchasing online. No membership fees, free shipping, small minimum orders. I have been using them for about a year now and they are awesome. If you'd like to give them a try you can use this coupon code "TMISE" for $10 off your first order with them. Which is great because you're already saving 40% off the retail price. They have lots of organic and neat packaged options. Water, personal care items, Trash Bags, Etc... I also use Amazon Dash Buttons . These are still a "beta" product, but they are great for filling short term gaps in things that you need.

Great Web 3.0 Investment Options

I personally use all three of these options. Acorns is great because it saves for you in a transparent way and anything that you can do to automate saving is great. A penny saved is a penny not spent and a penny not spent is one that you can leverage to make great financial decisions in the future. Having a cushion of cash that you don't need can also allow you to avoid paying out of pocket for Overlimit Fees, Bounced Check Fees, Etc... The real value in savings under 250,000.00 is the simple reduction in fees. For instance paying upfront for your auto insurance for a 6-month policy can save you 799.00 as it just did me. These smart choices add up over a lifetime so do yourself a favor and auto-save! Acorns can be a great way for millennials to invest. It takes your regular everyday credit/debit spending and rounds up the change to 5.00 increments, then it transfers those amounts to an investment account that automatically invests your money in several Exchange Traded Mutua...

Quest Protein Bars

Quest Protein Bars Are really awesome because they are high in protein and low in carbs. I get plenty of carbs. I agree that my blog really isn't that interesting but I am working on it Double Chocolate Chunk is Amazing. They have a flavor called Pumpkin Pie which tastes a bit like carrot cake but lol nothing like pumpkin pie. It also has big chunks of something on top that I didn't find very appetizing.
