The MacBook Pro without USB Ports

I'll get straight to the point. Eliminating classic USB ports by apple is an elitist and snobby move. However, they probably did it just to be purists. After all, someone who is going to have 35 devices hanging out of a computer, old outdated ones at that is likely to be a PC/Windows user. However, My big beef as a longtime Apple user is that there is no place to plug in my corded mouse. I travel with my laptop everywhere and I love my mouse. I have some nice 15-year-old ones a few new ones, but touch-pads just slow everything down that we love about pointing and clicking on a computer. They slow down access to context menus, you can't slide across evenly. The whole experience sucks. What touch-pads have going for them is portability. They are nice if you can't get anything else. They also look pretty. However, that begs my first question who makes a corded USB-C Mouse? I have never seen one.

Great Personal Finance Articles

I am putting up some links to great personal finance articles. Why it takes seven years to establish good credit

Istanbul in November.

Istanbul in November. Start planning now, one of the keys to doing that is to focus on your airfare. While you can pay for your cruise over time it really pays to focus on your airfare being paid up months in advance, even if you use miles. As seats are booked the more the seats will cost in miles. The only exception to this is if the plane is relatively empty and they don't mind if people use their miles on the flight. However, you don't want to risk your vacation by having to purchase some very expensive flights to and from a foreign destination just because you couldn't get cheap last minute airfare. It can really pay off to plan in this case.

The best article ive read on the Mac vs. PC design philosophy.

This might just be the best article that I have ever read on the Mac vs. PC design philosophy. https://www.quora.com/What-differentiates-Macs-from-PCs-so-much

What I am personally doing in 2016

The new year holds lots of opportunities for improving things. Organize the Cigar Box. Book a new cruise. (Scandinavia would be great.) Save and invest 10,000 USD. Clear up and unresolved items on my credit report. Organize Closet & Remove unwanted clothing and revitalize shoes. Simplify my computer life. This Could Be a Big Topic Visit Rivendell in California Design and Build New Home. Take Beau To Disneyland. Cook at home more. Eat Out Less. I think Instacart might be fun for this they deliver groceries. Make my bed more often. :) Sort my personal file box better.

Sleep is Weird.

I have always found that people have interesting conversations about sleep. As a starting point let me get my perspective out of the way. I either do not have or do not remember my dreams most of the time. Once every few years or months seemingly at random I will remember a dream in a fuzzy hard to recall way. I have never had trouble falling asleep. I don't particularly enjoy sleep but If I lie down and close my eyes I am asleep within minutes. I tend to have trouble waking up. I will sleep 12-14 hours if I am not forcibly awakened or with the use of great amounts of willpower. Yet I hear about people who keep dream journals, Have nightmares, trouble sleeping, need pills, suffer from insomnia, etc... There really seems to be a great variety of human experience when it comes to sleep. I wonder why that is... A group of crows is called a murder or congress. A group of owls is a parliament or wisdom. A group of flamingos is called a flamboyance.
